I have been living in Barcelona for 17 years and already dedicate many sketchbooks to my adoptive town. This last book is a selection of 144 unpublished pages of my most recent sketches.
“In this visual diary of Barcelona, French urban sketcher Lapin creates a compelling graphic narrative of city life through this deeply personal vision of the Catalan capital showing us images and situations taken from everyday urban life. Telling evocative stories through his drawings, he provides a fresh look at some of the urban transformations the city is currently undergoing, including green hubs and squares, parks and gardens. The result is a visual presentation of the city’s culture, drawn with virtuosity and making particular and humorous use of perspective, that will inspire other sketchers and appeal to people visiting the city: from its emblematic architecture down to the ornamental concrete slabs used to pave many of its sidewalks and nearly everything else in between.”

The “Sketching Barcelona” project is truly inspiring. It beautifully captures the essence of the city through artistic eyes, showcasing the vibrant life and architecture of Barcelona. As someone who loves to explore and capture the beauty of cities, I recently discovered some places in barcelona to take photos this artistic vision to perfection. There is an article on Desdesoria that lists the five best photo spots in the city. These places are not only photogenic, but they also capture the soul of Barcelona in a way that resonates deeply with Barcelonans and visitors alike.
