“Tonal values In this lesson we'll be looking at tonal values, what they are, why they're so important and how you can train your eyes to see them. We're also gonna be making a tonal value tool to help you do this. So what is a tonal value? Well, tone is about how light or how dark something is, and it's absolutely critical to getting a watercolour piece right. You might think why are we gonna be working in grey and with charcoals and pencils when the whole of this course is about watercolour? But it's critical that we understand tone and the easiest way to teach this is with just one colour...”
