“Next, we're going to use the back stitch to add texture to our design. I'm going to work with our purple clouds up at the top. We'll start by bringing our needle up slightly inside our shape here, and then make a nice, small stitch towards the edge. I'll leave a space away from that stitch I just made, and then go back down in the hole of that last stitch to connect my two stitches together. I'm going to follow this bottom line of my cloud as I fill in this first line. There's no right or wrong for how long or short your back stitches should be.
