“In this lesson, I want to show you how to start building your portrait from the profile. And the reason why we are starting to build from the profile is that we're using an additive method instead of carving out the portrait from a big block of clay. Imagine you see your friend and there's a shadow cast of your friend from the profile. You would most likely recognize him really easily. Instead, if you would see them from the front and there would be a shadow cast backwards, you would probably not realize who it is. It's a very generic shape.
